How It Started
Hi, I’m Kam and in October 2025 I bought a Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3d printer. I was messing around creating refrigerator magnets. Then it progress to personalized coasters that I made for my family.
As things progress I realize that I needed a break. I’ve been in IT for over 25 years it was going to be another 15 years before retire. At that point I started to thinking if this is it? I didn’t want to just sit behind my desk. I started wondering if other people thought the same thing too.
What’s a Coast’er?
So I created a wordplay off of coasters. A Coast’er is someone who is willing to go out for an adventure, do something different, experience life.
Why Hide Coast’ers?
I made a bunch of coasters with the Coast’ers logo(s). I created one with waves, and I'm constantly iterating off of the logo, kind of relentless on that. I take these coasters and start hiding them and posting YouTube and Instagram too. I want people to have an excuse to go out and find these coasters, keep and use them. I even put a cork backing on them so they don't slide.
It’s to get people to go out there and eventually start a community of Coast’ers. We would visit places, share the experiences and be part of growing community. It's just to get out from behind the desk and go and enjoy life. And that's how Coast’ers started.
Shirt Design
Ok so it started one day while I was driving down Fort St. in Downriver Michigan. And for all you out there, there is a store called Janet’s Closet (IYKYK). They had a sign that said “Downriver Stay Classy”. Instantly I said to myself that needs to be on a shirt.
So here we are.
I started to think about all the local/inside jokes that are around local communities. And through my hiding of Coast’ers in different place. I started to think about the people that would like to either share or represent their communities. Here is the catch: I only create designs to places where a Coast’er was hidden. Just to name a few: Detroit, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. Check my YouTube or Instagram to see where else!

Yes I do use AI as a tool. I am not a graphics designer. Remember I was in IT for over 25 years. The ideas are mine. AI is just one of the tools I use to bring them to reality.
